TWO OF Ireland's best loved actors, Mary McEvoy and comedian Jon Kenny, are coming to the Town Hall Theatre to star in John B Keane's much loved comedy, The Matchmaker.
Directed by Michael Scott, The Matchmaker follows Dicky Mick Dicky O’Connor's efforts to make matches for the lonely and lovelorn. Yet underneath Keane’s trademark mischievous wit and way with words, is an exploration of rural isolation and loneliness. McEvoy and Kenny play myriad characters in The Matchmaker, and previous productions starring the duo, have earned critical acclaim. As The New York Times said: "Keane uses the lyrical, colorful language of his part of the world the way a painter uses the palette."
