Galway received a massive jobs boost yesterday (Wednesday ) when Genesys the global leader in omnichannel customer experience and contact centre solutions, announced it is creating 200 new technology jobs in the city over the next three years.
The senior and highly skilled technical roles are based at the company’s state-of-the-art facility at Woodquay which will serve as a Genesys research and development (R&D ) hub and the company’s global Centre of Excellence for Customer Experience AI.
The growing Genesys workforce in Galway will focus on advancing the use of AI and machine learning to improve customer experiences and make employees’ jobs easier, resulting in positive business outcomes. This investment is supported by the Irish Government through IDA Ireland. The Centre of Excellence is an important landmark in the company’s continuing growth and commitment to Ireland.
Last year, Genesys acquired Altocloud, the company founded by Galway entrepreneurs, Barry O’Sullivan and Joe Smyth and supported by Enterprise Ireland and the Western Development Commission, Genesys has now relocated to newly-refurbished offices at Woodquay from the PorterShed.
Sean Kyne TD, Government Chief Whip and Minister of State who was due to perofrm the opening but had to rush to Dublin to attend the Cabinet meeting on Brexit said he is thrilled Genesys is making this commitment to the region and growing its footprint in Galway with 200 new highly-skilled jobs.
