Canning makes it five All Star awards

All-Ireland champions Limerick dominated this year's PwC All-Star hurling team, but Galway's Joe Canning claimed a fifth career All-Star.

Canning was again named in the centre forward position, while Galway dual star Daithí Burke bagged his four in a row for All-Star awards at full back, and Hurler of the Year nominee Galway’s Pádraic Mannion was named at wing back.

Limerick claimed six awards; finalist Galway and Cork three, with Clare picking up two awards, and Kilkenny one.

The PwC All-Star team was selected by a panel of senior Gaelic games correspondents and chaired by uachtarán CLG John Horan, while the overall Player of the Year awards were voted on exclusively by inter-county players.
