PARIS, the French capital, one of the world's greatest cities, has been the subject of songs throughout the decade, many of which will be performed by Christine Bovill in her new show - Paris.
Christine, the award winning chanteuse, best known for her successful 2016 show, Piaf, is coming to the Town Hall Theatre to perform Paris on Friday November 9 at 8pm. The show explores the golden age of French song from the 1920s through the 1950s, and will see Christine singing en Français and in English, performing songs by Jacques Brel, Edith Piaf, Juliet Greco, Charles Aznavour, and others.
The show has already been performed in Edinburgh, where it has enjoyed five star reviews, and won the 2017 Spirit Of The Fringe award. Edinburghfestival.org said of it: "It’s rare that a musical performance has such a deep emotional effect, but Bovill’s amazing voice does it every time. It’s heart-rending stuff, and her delivery and phrasing is astonishing – you keep pinching yourself and asking if you’re really hearing this."
