DYLAN MURPHY, the Galway based blues-rock singer-songwriter and 60 Watt Girl will play Sos #4 - a celebration of Galway city and county's diverse original music community - at the Nuns' Island Theatre.
Sos #4 is on this Saturday, starting at 6pm with refreshments and a DJ set by Graham Dolan, followed by an all ages open mic. There will then be a set by 60 Watt Girl - Mark Daly (drums ), Robert Campbell (guitar ), Naoise Rock (bass ), Joe Vaughan (guitar ), and Ruby de Burca (vocals ) - the winners of the Irish Youth Music Awards 2018.
They will be followed by Dylan Murphy. Dylan sings wryly intricate songs with a distinct growl and a strong focus on melody. His latest EP Make Plans was called "his most confident and assured solo release to date" by the Galway Advertiser, while his single ‘Anxious Times’ was described as "a blues-folk infused rush, that sounds somewhere between Courtney Barnett and Jack White" by Joe.ie
Sos. is a voluntary run event that promotes social inclusion and positive mental health through the medium of creativity in music. The night is drug and alcohol free and open to all ages. It is run in partnership with Galway Arts Centre, Galway City Council, and UNESCO Child and Family Research Centre. Admission is free but ticketed. See Facebook or Eventbrite to reserve tickets.
