Emma Lohan - debut album out today

Galway singer-songwriter releases Black Atlantic in association with Citóg Records

EMMA LOHAN, the Galway singer-songwriter, releases her debut album, Black Atlantic, today, in association with Citóg Records. The album features the singles 'Three Sparrows', 'Wander Free', 'Serekunda'.

Black Atlantic is a full expression of Emma's music, more than living up to The Irish Times description of her work as full of “beautifully ghostly swirls and elegant, sweet harmonies”. The songs, which feature horns, strings, synths, waltz-times, and "wild guitar grooves", are centred around Emma's vocals and acoustic guitar, and have been inspired by the artist's native west of Ireland, as well as travels in West Africa and South America. 'Serekunda' reached No 1 in the Irish iTunes singer-songwriters charts on the day of its release. Silversoundz.com called the song "powerfully understated, intimate, and uniquely moving offering that grabs your attention from the first guitar chord".

The album, mastered by the pioneering UK dub producer/selector Nick Manasseh, will be available physically, as a recycled CD with download key insert, and digitally via iTunes, Google Play, etc.
