THE TRIBAL Chamber Choir, under director Mark Keane, will host A Musical Journey Through Holy Week, in Christ The King church, Salthill on Sunday at 8pm.
This new Galway choir recently appeared on RTÉ’s Nationwide after it won the Sacred Music Competition at the Limerick Festival of Church Music.
Soloists include Sarah Skerritt, who will sing excerpts from Handel’s Messiah, Sandra Murphy and Aoife Ní Chulain in the gospel favourite ‘Ride The Chariot’, and they will be joined by Sean Carroll for Mozart’s Regina Coeli. The programme will also Irish music by Ahearn and the ‘Caoineadh na dtri Mhuire’.
The Galway Boy Singers, who won the Youth Choir Competition at the Limerick festival, will join Tribal for some of the pieces.
Tickets are €10 and are available at the door on the night.
