Paul O’Reilly album launch @ Róisín Dubh

GALWAY BASED singer-songwriter Paul O’Reilly is set to release an album with The Hollows’ Greg O’Brien in the Róisín Dubh this weekend.

Ships Leaving is a split album featuring separate songs from both artists. There are five tracks from O’Reilly and five from O’Brien (who goes under the name At Last An Atlas when solo ).

O’Reilly released his debut album First Thing In The Morning in 2001, which received the thumbs up from Mojo. He subsequently supported John Martyn and Will Oldham. He has continued writing and recording, but only now feels satisfied with the music he is producing. Ships Leaving therefore marks his return.

O’Brien creates dreamy sounding pop songs through organs, live electronics, samplers, classical guitar, and field recordings.

Ships Leaving will be launched at a show from O’Reilly and At Last An Atlas, with support from Yawning Chasm, upstairs in the Róisín Dubh on Saturday at 8pm. Admission is €5.
