Emma Johnson and Finghin Collins in concert

Leading British clarinettist to join leading Irish pianist in NUI, Galway

EMMA JOHNSON, one of the few clarinettists to have established herself as a major solo artist, and who has since become of the biggest selling classical artists in Britain, is coming to Galway.

Johnson will join forces with the brilliant Irish pianist, Finghin Collins, for a concert in the Emily Anderson Concert Hall, NUI Galway, on Thursday October 25 at 8pm. Johnson has sold more than over half a million albums worldwide. Her much admired recording of the Finzi Concerto was nominated for a Gramophone Award, while Pastoral was chosen as CD of the Year by BBC Music magazine. She has appeared as soloist with many of the world’s leading orchestras, and has collaborated with Sir Yehudi Menuhin, Dame Cleo Laine, Julian Lloyd Webber, Lesley Garrett, the Takacs Quartet, Michelangelo Quartet, Pascal Roge, and Galway's ConTempo Quartet.
