THE KING'S Head has long been a bastion of Galway comedy, especially the venue's Ruby Room, home to Gerry Mallon’s lunchtime comedy gigs during the arts festival.
During this month's Vodafone Comedy Carnival, The Ruby Room will host eight shows: Adam Burke’s The Big, Happy Head On Ya! (Friday October 26 - http://www.advertiser.ie/galway/article/103654/adam-burke-the-big-happy-head-on-ya ); Lady Beard (Saturday 27 ) with Anna Clifford and Brian Gallagher. We have been told this is the best the split show you are likely to see.
Phil Nichol will be tormenting grammar Nazis and questioning the need to be right about everything in Your Wrong (Sunday 28 ); while Simon Evans, praised by Chortle.co.uk for his "precise, sardonic wit, dripping disdain from every perfectly pronounced word” will ponder how humanity has fallen from the heights of Plato and John Stuart Mill to memes and 'motivational quotes about fish'.
All shows start at 12.30pm. Tickets and information are available from vodafonecomedycarnival.com
