All eyes will be on The Galmont Hotel next Thursday with DNG Maxwell Heaslip & Leoanrd's eagerly awaited October 4 auction.
Following the hugely successful summer auction series, which saw a 92 per cent sales rate, the city-based auction experts are excited about next week's event and are, as usual, expecting a big turnout.
Auctioneer James Heaslip will be heading up the afternoon's proceedings and is anticipating a busy afternoon, with 20 lots due to go to the auction floor.
As usual there is a diverse mix of properties with something to suit all buyers and they have already seen huge numbers at the open viewings, says auctioneer James Heaslip.
“We have had a great turnout at our viewings and the interest levels would appear to be high. That said, it doesn’t cost anything to view a property and I reckon there will be some value on the auction floor.
"All of the lots are keenly priced and we have modest reserves, which we expect to reach come auction day.”
The company's success is ultimately down to knowledge of the market, he says. “We put a lot of effort into our auctions and work closely with our DNG colleagues all along the west coast in order to value each property correctly, and it pays off.”
This weekend will see the last of the open viewings and then it will be just down to the day, to see what levels each of the properties will sell for.
“We have some great value on offer next Thursday and would urge those who have viewed any of the lots to make an effort to come along. Even if you don’t end up being a sucessful bidder, there's always some entertainment on show and, as usual, we’ll give you a cup of tea and a biscuit, which is always welcome."
