The Clarinbridge GAA and Camogie clubs are hosting a major community fundraising event this winter called The Clarinbridge OsKaRs 2018, that is destined to make stars out of its participants.
The event guarantees to bring Hollywood magic to the community as the will recreate iconic scenes from eight classic movies starring local actors and actresses from the community (no previous acting experience required! ). The event will be produced and directed by Kevin Rowe Productions.
Casting and rehearsals will commence in October followed by filming of the movies in locations across the Clarinbridge community in November. The movies will be screened at a gala premiere night on December 29 in the Galmont Hotel.
The event is a critical part of an ongoing effort to generate funds which will be allocated to the development of exceptional new sports and social facilities, for use by the entire community of Clarinbridge and the surrounding areas, young and old.
An Information Evening will be held on September 25 at 7.30pm in Scoil Mhuire NS in Clarinbridge. The OsKaRs event needs at least 80 volunteers from the community to take part in casting for eight different movies with support also needed in areas such as; volunteers, sponsors, supporters, fund raisers and behind the scenes.
The main sponsors of the event include The Connacht Hotel, Galway and The Skeff Bar, Galway.
