An autumn exhibition of new paintings

Kieran Tobin holds his fifth exhibition in The Kenny Gallery

AS AUTUMN begins to take hold, what better time for an exhibition about the season of which George Eliot wrote: "Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns."

A Hint of Autumn, an exhibition of new paintings by Kieran Tobin, is currently running in the Kenny Gallery, Liosbán. This is Tobin’s fifth solo show at Kenny's, since his first 20 years ago.

.

A native of Tipperary, and a graduate of NUI Galway, Tobin practised as an ENT surgeon for many years and began to paint as a hobby and as his interest grew, he found himself devoting more and more time to art, usually working in watercolours and acrylics, and later pastels and oils. His work concentrates on the Connemara and west Mayo landscapes, depicting quiet, unspoilt, corners, and the effect of light.

The exhibition continues daily, Mondays to Saturdays, 9am to 5pm until October 5. Admission is free, all are welcome, and paintings are available for sale.
