BETWEEN HIS stand-up sets and his TV roles as Fr Gabriel in Bridget and Eamon, and co-presenter on Republic Of Telly, Edwin Sammon has emerged as one of the most popular comedians in the country.
Edwin will headline the next Comedy KARLnival at the Róisín Dubh on Tuesday September 4 at 8pm. Since winning the Tedfest Best Comedian Award in 2011, the Offaly man has supported Jason Byrne, Phil Jupitus, and Ardal O'Hanlon, and played festivals and clubs across Ireland and Britain. Totally Dublin said his comedy was "brilliantly written, wonderfully performed", while Chortle.co.uk said his "perfectly described imagery should offer something for everyone".
Also on the bill is Patser Murray, of whom Jason Byrne said: "That man is gas." He has appeared at on Love/Hate, Primeval, Can't Cope Won't Cope, and in the films Intermission and You're Ugly Too. He has played the International Bar, Laughter Lounge, City Limits Cork, The Empire Belfast, Chaplins, Anseo, and many other established comedy clubs.
Support is from Niall Horisk who has been a regular on the Galway and national comedy scene since 2015. He has been managing NUIG's award-winning Comedy Society since 2016, reached the finals of Show Me The Funny 2017, and supported Phill Jupitus, Katherine Lynch, and Tommy Tiernan.
