Medical experts to attend men's health seminar

Local men’s health clinician, Ms Aoife Ni Eochaidh, is hosting a men’s health seminar next month at which a number of medical experts will speak.

This event is for athletes trying to improve their sporting performance through gene specific exercise and diet, and the event will also be of interest to those with constipation, prostatitis, a history of prostate cancer, and bladder, bowel and erectile dysfunction. Skin problems and bone health will also be covered.

Eddie Myers, consultant colorectal surgeon will talk about digestive diseases including colitis, while David Boucher Hayes, consultant urologist will talk about prostate cancer. Dr Dahlia Hopmeier, gene therapy expert from Myogenes London, will speak on genetic testing to improve diet and exercise and lose weight. Aisling Snedker, dietician, Galway Bay Medical Centre and Galway Clinic, will cover the management of constipation. Aoife Ni Eochaidhm, chartered physiotherapist, will be talking about therapies for erectile dysfunction, bladder and bowel dysfunction, and bone health, while incontinence associated dermatitis and other related skin problems will be covered by Anna Sheeran, 3M. Mathew Burrows, iMEDicare will talk about a therapy for erectile dysfunction, and Helen Mitchell of Pharma Nord will be talking about vitamin D for bone health.

This event will take place in The Ardilaun Hotel on September 3 from 5.30pm to 8pm. The cost is €10, payable at the door. Tea and coffee are included and a free raffle.
