Conan - heavy distortion and downtuned 'caveman battle doom'

Acclaimed Liverpudlian trio to play Galway this week

CONAN, THE acclaimed Liverpool doom metal band, whose heavily distorted, downtuned sound, has been described as "caveman battle doom", play Galway city tomorrow night, Thursday August 16.

The band - Jon Davis (vocals/guitar ), Chris Fielding (bass ), and Irishman Johnny King (drums ) - play a brand of stoner doom heavier than to any comparable counterpart on a galactic scale. Indeed, the guitar tone and bass are an exciting anomaly to behold in the genre.

Support is from Galway's mighty Ten Ton Slug; Gourd, from Mayo, who play a mix of noise, black, and doom metal, with accompanying morbid visuals; and Galway black/doom/death metal band Stonecarver.

The show takes place in The Loft at Seven, Bridge Street. Doors are at 6pm. The show is organised by Hexen Haus Promotions. Tickets are €13 via hexenhaus.ie/store/conan and €15 on the door.
