CONAN, THE acclaimed Liverpool doom metal band, whose heavily distorted, downtuned sound, has been described as "caveman battle doom", play Galway city tomorrow night, Thursday August 16.
The band - Jon Davis (vocals/guitar ), Chris Fielding (bass ), and Irishman Johnny King (drums ) - play a brand of stoner doom heavier than to any comparable counterpart on a galactic scale. Indeed, the guitar tone and bass are an exciting anomaly to behold in the genre.
Support is from Galway's mighty Ten Ton Slug; Gourd, from Mayo, who play a mix of noise, black, and doom metal, with accompanying morbid visuals; and Galway black/doom/death metal band Stonecarver. The show takes place in The Loft at Seven, Bridge Street. Doors are at 6pm. The show is organised by Hexen Haus Promotions. Tickets are €13 via hexenhaus.ie/store/conan and €15 on the door.
