Councillor welcomes works on N84

Cllr James Charity has warned motorists to exercise caution along areas of the N84 where the road has been raised, leaving a substantial slope which is particularly pronounced between Corrandulla Barracks and Clonboo.

“I have raised the issue with the local NDRO [National Roads Design Office] who have confirmed to me today these locations will be backfilled with Cl804 material so as to provide a safe road edge,” Cllr Charity said this week. “The NDRO has also prioritised the installation of crash barriers by TII at certain locations and I want to thank [senior engineer] Derek Pender there for giving this matter urgent attention.”

Cllr Charity has also welcomed confirmation of a reduced schedule for Race Week, with works finishing at 2pm on Wednesday and no works taking place Thursday or Friday.
