WHILE HE will always be best known for his Daniel O'Donnell spoofing Eoin McLove character on Father Ted, it should never be forgotten that Pat McDonnell is also one of Ireland’s most accomplished and respected stand-up comedians.
Pat McDonnell plays the next Comedy KARLnival in the Róisín Dubh on Tuesday August 7. He has appeared on Moone Boy, Stew, Naked Camera, and The Savage Eye. He has enjoyed international acclaim for his comedy, and his vacant stare and guileless manner often have audiences laughing before he opens his mouth.
Support is from Ballinasloe's Breda Larkin. She began her career in the theatre, writing and performing one woman comedies. Now she leaves behind her theatre life searching for stardom in the manic world of stand up comedy. She has supported Karl Spain, and shared the stage with PJ Gallagher, the Lords of Strut, and Alison Spittle.
Support is from Mark O’Keeffe. The MC is Karl Spain. Doors are at 8.30pm. Tickets are €5 in advance from OMG@Zhivage, Shop Street; Róisín Dubh; and www.roisindubh.net; or €7 at the door.
