THE 30TH Galway Film Fleadh takes place this week and among the highlights will be the screening of Behold My Heart, starring Marisa Tomei, who will attend the screening at the Town Hall Theatre.
There is an unwritten rule in families that no two people can go crazy at the same time. Margaret (Tomei - My Cousin Vinny, Only You ) falls apart after the unexpected loss of her husband, leaving her son to carry the emotional weight, but this proves too much for him. After hitting rock bottom, Margaret scrambles to find the strength to be a mother again, following Marcus into the deep woods where he has gone to seek solace. Behold My Heart screens this evening at 6pm.
Other Fleadh films worth checking out are Danish film Holiday (Pálás, today, 8.45pm, director and cast will attend ), where the trophy girlfriend of a Danish drug lord gains the attention of another man, setting in motion a dangerous game in this dark gangster tale with a twist; and Belgian/German film Gutland (Pálás, tomorrow, 6.30pm, director and cast will attend ). In this rural thriller, a stranger finds refuge in a small village. As he is gradually integrated into the community, it emerges that he is not the only one with a past to hide.
