Galway Street Club to support Madness

Róisín Dubh gig this weekend ahead of GIAF 18 Big Top support slot

GALWAY STREET Club have a busy summer ahead. When the band are not been playing to crowds on Galway's streets, they have been making waves throughout the Irish music scene.

With July seeing them take to the mainstage at both Townlands Carnival and Knockan' Stockan', their biggest gig yet sees them supporting British ska legends Madness on July 27 in the Big Top as part of the Galway International Arts Festival. "It's a huge step up for us," says James Dillon, one of the band's lead vocalists. "The production team was on to our manager and half apologised for the fact everyone might not get their individual dressing rooms, whereas usually if there's a river beside the venue, we might get a wash in it."

On top of this, Galway Street Club have a headline show in the Róisín Dubh on Saturday July 7 at 8pm. Admission is €5. See www.roisindubh.net
