Highly respected healer returns to Athenry and Athlone due to high demand

Thirty years ago Paddy Hughes had no idea what fate had in store for him when his aunt chose him to carry on the gift of healing which had been in the family for more than 100 years.

Hughes has more than 30 different cures and heals through prayer and other remedies, including oatmeal to cure asthma, angina, and headaches, and sand to get rid of warts and verruccas. He cannot explain how these work but is a great believer in the power of prayer.

Paddy Hughes gets requests from people from all walks and life and says with a touch of humour: “When they have tried the rest, they come to me.” He also works on animals and has great success in curing orf infections in sheep and pink eye in animals.

Hughes says that he has great results in what he does but he cannot cure everything. He is sad that many of the old cures have been lost as they have not been passed on to family members.

Paddy Hughes will be in the Raheen Woods Hotel, Athenry, on Saturdays June 30, July 7, and July 14 from 2pm to 8pm, and Creggan Court Hotel, Athlone, on Sundays July 1, 8, and 15 from 11am to 4pm.
