Greasán na Meán Skillnet is accepting applications for two upcoming courses - character sculpting and Galway Film Fleadh TV.
Character sculpting with Paul McDonnell
To be a skilled sculptor a person must master not only the art of form, but also the art of texturing. On a life-size head bust students will be taught to sculpt a wide range of effects. The course uses a thoroughly hands on approach and the students take home their completed piece.
It is recommended students have an idea of what they would like to sculpt beforehand, including sketches and references.
This is a 40 hour intensive course, and culminates in a finished sculpted character and photo for their portfolio.
Paul McDonnell has worked as a designer and model maker in the film industry for the past 20 years.
Galway Film Fleadh TV
Galway Film Fleadh TV is an exciting training opportunity for eligible jobseekers. Participants will receive on site training from industry professionals and will also participate in a series of high end workshops, after which they will be launched into the production of the web-based Film Fleadh TV.
They will cover all aspects of the Fleadh, from in depth interviews with actors, directors, funding organisations and casting agents, to previews and reviews of movies, documentaries and short films.
Fleadh TV will document the Galway Film Fleadh completely, from casting and creation to final draft and financing. Some experience is an advantage.
