The official opening of Corrandulla Community Playground will take place tomorrow Friday. The ribbon will be cut jointly by Independent TD Sean Canny and Independent councillor James Charity, chair of the playground committee, in a ceremony at 6pm in Corrandulla.

Cllr Charity said this is significant development and much needed amenity for the community which would not have been possible but for the help and assistance of many sponsors.

“We thank Fr Hughie Loftus and the Archdiocese of Tuam who made the land available, St Jarlath’s Credit Union who supported us under their community scheme, all of the local primary schools, Annaghdown Parish Council, and the incredible work of our own playground committee members who have worked non-stop on this for more than four years now,:” he said.

A trad night to mark the opening of the new facility will take place in Peggys Bar with Orlaith Keane, Colm Naughton, Joe Forde, Glenn Hardiman, and special guests from 9.30pm on Friday following the earlier opening. Admission is free for what should be a great night of celebration.”
