The MHL Hotel Collection (MHL ) has appointed Stefan Lundstrom as General Manager of The Galmont Hotel and Spa, Galway.
Stefan, a native of Sweden, has had an exciting career in hospitality management spanning over 20 years. He started his career with MHL Hotel Collection as Operations Manager in the Limerick Strand in November 2008. His journey with MHL continued and in May 2011 he was promoted to the position of General Manager at the Harbour Hotel in Galway. He successfully managed that hotel for more than five years and then moved back to Limerick in October 2016, to take up the position of General Manager at the Limerick Strand Hotel.
In his new role Mr Lundstrom will be responsible for managing the team to continue to deliver the high standard of hospitality which the hotel is renowned for, and for bringing new and innovative guest focused facilities and services to Galway.
The four-star Galmont Hotel & Spa, situated on the shores of Lough Atalia officially rebranded from the Radisson Blu Galway in January this year. Under its new name, inspired by the beauty and unique culture of Galway City, this iconic hotel continues to play an important role within Galway’s dynamic leisure and tourism sector, as part of the ever expanding MHL Hotel Collection.
The Galmont Hotel & Spa boasts the largest meeting and event spaces in the west of Ireland, 269 well-appointed bedrooms, state-of-the-art facilities at the Spirit One Spa and Leisure Centre and the newly renovated Coopers Bar and Lounge serving delicious local food and bespoke cocktails.

The MHL Hotel Collection is owned by Paul Higgins, Galway business man John Lally and John Malone. The company, currently operates a total of 11 hotel properties in Ireland, three of which are located in Galway; namely the five-star Glenlo Abbey Hotel and Golf Course, the Harbour Hotel, and the Galmont Hotel and Spa, and these hotels combined offer over 400 rooms in Galway city.
In Dublin the group operates the Westin Hotel, the Intercontinental Hotel, the Spencer Hotel, the Trinity City Hotel, the Beacon Hotel, the Morgan Hotel, and the Hilton Dublin is also included in the portfolio.
