Fancy being in a soap rather than just watching it? Have the cúpla focail and a burning ambition to act? Well, now’s your chance as Ros na Rún, one of Ireland’s most popular drama series, is now on the look out for talented gaeilgeoirs to join the cast for the upcoming 14th season.
With dramatic and exciting storylines in the pipeline, the producers are looking for an actor to fill the role of a womanising character who causes uproar when he works his charm on the female population of Ros na Rún.
The show is also searching for actors to play a larger than life elderly couple, and a variety of smaller roles is also on offer.
More than 300,000 viewers tune in to Ros na Rún each week. Over the years, the programme has featured some of the most dramatic soap storylines in Ireland. During its 13 year history the soap screened the first gay kiss shown on Irish television, as well as under-age sex, teen pregnancy, and web-cam pornography scandal.
Auditions will be held on the Ros na Rún set in Spiddal, Co Galway and fluent Irish is essential for all roles. The show is co-produced by Eo Teilifis and Tyrone Productions, which are commissioned by TG4 to produce the station’s flagship drama programme.
