Róisín Dubh Comedy presents Comedy KARLnival with Karl Spain and friends

The Comedy Karnival will kick off next Tuesday (and every Tuesday ) with Karl Spain and friends Tom O’Mahony, Tomie James, and Margaret McHugh at Róisín Dubh.

Tom O'Mahony (Damo & Ivor/Republic of Telly ) is an Irish professional stand-up comedian and actor. He is one of the busiest Irish headline acts on the circuit playing every major festival and club here and abroad and is fresh off tours with MTV star Tom Green and Mock The Week regular Tom Stade. With his own sell out shows in Edinburgh, Cork, Leicester, Dublin, and Barcelona Comedy festivals, O'Mahony has gone on to support the likes of Nina Conti (Cork Opera House ), Michael Winslow (of Police Academy fame ) Abandoman, Neil Delamare, and Tommy Tiernan as part of their nationwide tours.

Tomie James was born in the same hospital as Pierce Brosnan, Steve Staunton, and DJ Kormac; although they all left Drogheda before they could walk and talk, and James decided to stay on and learn "the Drog"; an ancient tongue spoken by some and understood by few. James has performed his comedy at all the major clubs in Ireland and recently supported Tom Stade on his UK tour. He is a regular in the Laughter Lounge and The International Comedy Club.

James has brought a show to the Edinburgh Fringe and is a former winner of the Galway Comedy Festival Smackdown competition. And – yes – he was the comic who drank the Buckfast on the comedy stage at Electric Picnic. Hell, Pierce Brosnan would have done exactly the same thing, if he had not fecked off to Hollywood with suave notions about himself.

"One of the best young stand-ups we’ve had at Nighthawks in the last few years…. pity that he still can’t spell his first name correctly. Someone should really tell him.” - Nighthawks at the Cobalt Cafe.

“...particularly passionate, interesting, funny” - Broadway Baby.

“Homegrown Organic Comedy” - Laughter Lounge.

Margaret McHugh is a stalwart of the Irish comedy scene who has graced stages the length and breadth of Ireland and beyond, as well as our TV screens.

Doors will open at 8.30pm with the show starting at 9pm. Tickets can be purchased for €5 in advance from OMG Shop Street, Roisin Dubh, and www.roisindubh.net Tickets purchased at the door will cost €7 which includes a free Jager plus free silent disco after the show.
