Insulate now with homeowner grant available

With the government grant still in place, West Coast Insulation is recommending homeowners take advantage of the current grant scheme to insulate their homes. Homeowners can contact the Galway company for a free quotation for cavity wall and attic insulation.

The grant will cover a large percentage of the costs of the work when ordering with West Coast Insulation. Furthermore West Coast Insulation, which has been in business since 2009, will look after all application forms to make the process as simple as possible for homeowners.

When insulating a house, the company injects EcoBead Platinum Bonded Bead into the cavity walls, even when there is existing aerobord insulation. This significantly improves the heat retention and also fills in any gaps in the older insulation. The company keeps the injection holes closer together, to ensure the walls are filled 100 per cent and that the bead is packed as tightly as possible. The company installs Knauf Rolled insulation in the attics.

John Folan of West Coast Insulation noted: “Most attics have some existing fibreglass insulation at around 100mm to 150mm depth. The problem with fibreglass is that it shrinks over time and need to be upgraded. We install Knauf and Rockwool insulation to 300mm giving the best U-values possible. We also fit the insulating jackets and lids around the tanks, fit the heavy duty 19mm lagging on the pipes, and insulate and draught proof the attic's doors to eliminate draughts.”

Why should homeowners use West Coast Insulation? West Coast Insulation is a family run business working right across Galway and Mayo since 2009. All products and work is fully guaranteed and the company always delivers the highest quality service and workmanship. The team ensure both walls and attics are insulated to the highest standards and the house will be left clean and tidy after works are complete.
