Charity night to help local man with heart condition

Fundraising gig with Tara Stacey, Joseph Forde and Glenn Hardiman, and Beastly Aftershave

A NIGHT of music to raise funds for local man Brendan Doran to undergo stem cell therapy, will take place in the Galway Rowing Club, tomorrow from 8pm.

The event, entitled Songs For Stem Cells, will feature music from local indie singer-songwriter Tara Stacey, trad musicians Joseph Forde and Glenn Hardiman, followed by Beastly Aftershave, a four piece fusion band drawing influences Snarky Puppy and Funkadelic.

Funds raised will got towards the stem cell therapy which will treat Brendan's heart condition (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy ). Says Brendan's partner, Tara Stacey, "The goal is €25,000, so we need all the help we can get! On the night we aim to raise awareness of the conditions stem cell therapy can treat, and will have plenty of information available."
