Galway Diocesan Youth Services which was set up in the early 1980s is to be renamed as No 4 Youth Service at an event in the Harbour Hotel next Wednesday, when it will also unveil its new website.
The service strives to meet the needs of young people facing challenging times in their lives. It offers a range of supports to include – Youth Work, Careers Guidance, Counselling, Tuition and Homelessness Prevention.
Supports provided aim to enhance the wellbeing and resilience of young people aged 13-25 years and in the past year almost 500 young people availed of the supports offered at No 4.
The organisation formerly GDYS was established as a joint initiative between Galway Diocese and the Augustinian Community and they acknowledge the continuing support of the Augustinians and of Galway Diocese, as well as the aid provided by GRETB, TUSLA and the HSE.
The new website www.no4.ie will inlcude information on No 4’s activities and services.
In addition, the National Youth Council of Ireland will present their Gold Standard Health Quality Mark to ‘No 4 Youth Service’ at the event.
‘No 4 Youth Service’ is a Registered Charity with a voluntary Board of Directors.
