The Words Are There at Galway Theatre Festival 2018

A FLAT in Bettystown, County Meath. He awaits her return. Amidst childhood falsehoods and fragmented memories, he struggles to find the words for this important day. Life has left him speechless, but in his silence lies a story.

This is The Words Are There, written by Ronan Dempsey. It will be staged by Nth Degree Productions, as part of the Galway Theatre Festival 2018, and run in the Nuns Island Theatre on this evening [Thursday May 10] and tomorrow [Friday 11] at 8pm, and on Saturday [May 12] at 3pm and 8pm.

A piece of physical theatre, starring Ronan Dempsey and Jessica Leen, it deals with "a lesser learned side of domestic abuse" and has earned critical acclaim. The Arts Review compared it to a "cult classic movie...Everyone will want to see it, and those who miss it regret that they didn't go when they had the chance". Yanawritesabouttheatre.wordpress.com called it "an unforgettable piece of theatre that won’t leave anyone unmoved".
