Rising star Micky Bartlett for the Comedy KARLnival

Northern Ireland’s fast rising comedy star is coming to the Róísín Dubh

MICKY BARTLETT, Northern Ireland’s fast rising comedy star, award winning Limeripudlian comic Stephen Ryan (well what is the word for someone from Limerick? ) and 62 years young Maxine Jones, plays the next Róisín Dubh Comedy KARLnival.

Micky has earned his comedy reputation through his live stand-up act; TV appearances, including two series of BBC NI’s Monumental; and supporting Patrick Kielty. Micky made his solo debut in London’s West End with a run at the prestigious Soho Theatre in 2017; he featured on BBC Radio 4’s State Of The Nations; and premiered his show, Typical! at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Described as “arrogant yet serene,” Stephen Ryan’s unorthodox perspective in putting the world to rights, has seen him win the 2016 Forbidden Fruit Comedy Competition; reach the final of the 2016 Irish Comedian of the Year competition; and be a two-time finalist in the prestigious Chortle Student Comedy Competition. He is recognisable from The Mario Rosenstock Show, the Rubberbandits guides, and Fair City.

Running for Ireland, raising sons, matching socks, getting the gravy right, going on Countdown - Maxine Jones has faced life’s challenges. Chortle.ie has placed her in its 'Top 10 feminist fatales' while Entertainment.ie called her "outstandingly funny".

The show takes place on Tuesday May 15. The MC is Karl Spain. Doors are at 8.45pm. Tickets are €5 from OMG@Zhivago, Shop Street; Roisin Dubh; and www.roisindubh.net; or €7 at the door.
