Cendrillon - from The Met to The Eye

Sumptuous new staging of the Cinderella story

CENDRILLION, A sumptuous new take on the Cinderella story, is being staged by The Met Opera, and will be broadcast live to The Eye Cinema in Wellpark, this weekend.

Cendrillon will be screened this Saturday at 5.55pm. Set in a a storybook kingdom, Pandolfe, a country gentleman, has married Madame de la Haltière, an imperious countess. She and her daughters, Noémie and Dorothée, bully Pandolfe’s daughter from his first marriage, Lucette - known as Cendrillon. It stars Joyce DiDonato in the title role, with mezzo-soprano Alice Coote (Prince Charming ), Kathleen Kim (Fairy Godmother ), and Stephanie Blythe (Madame de la Haltière ). The conductor is Bertrand de Billy.
