Mary's Fish to celebrate new premises with day of cooking and talks

Local Galway city enterprise Mary's Fish is going from strength to strength. It has moved to a new and much bigger premises just off the Old Monivea Road in Ballybrit. This new location is across from McGreal's Mace shop on the road between the Clayton Hotel Galway and the Nissan garage.

There is plenty of parking available at the front door. In many ways these new premises are easier for people to access as there are no one-way road systems to deal with, and of course it brings the freshest of fish right to the doorsteps of many who perhaps were not familiar with Mary's last shop.

The new shop is perfectly located for foodies working in places such as Galway Technology Park and Briarhill, who can pop in at lunchtime or on their way home from work and pick up fresh fish without the hassle of negotiating traffic jams or parking restrictions.

To launch the new location Mary's Fish is holding a celebration on Friday April 27 when there will be fish cookery demonstrations and talks about all things sea related. Margaret Lee from Connemara Organic Seaweed Company will be there, as will several chefs from Galway restaurants. There will be special offers on the day so if you taste some of the demonstration dishes you can then go into the shop and buy the ingredients to make it yourself. Everyone is invited.

The event will start at noon on Friday April 27 so mark your diary. Go along and see some great fish dishes being prepared and then taste the results.

The phone numbers of the shop are 091 760 685 and 086 1940846. Opening hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm, and Saturday 9am to 5pm.
