Slow At Work workshop

Galwegians who are feeling stressed, burnt out, or under pressure, in their woking lives, should check out an afternoon workshop in Galway city, designed to help people get some respite from the ‘cult of busyness’.

The workshop, entitled Slow At Work, is hosted by Aoife McElwain, and is based on insights she collected in her book Slow at Work: How To Work Less, Achieve More and Regain Your Balance in an Always-On World. It takes place in The House Hotel on Sunday April 22.

The event will start with tea, coffee, and talks at noon. Aoife, who is also the organiser of the popular Sing Along Social events, will share her personal experience of recovering from burnout, and how has she shifted her mindset and priorities to cultivate a more sustainable approach to work. Other speakers include Mark Boyle, who lives mostly without money and technology in a log cabin outside Galway; nutritional therapist Antoinette Witter from The Happy Gut Clinic; and Hanna van Aelst, who will give a basket-making demo.

Tickets are €55pp, and include a vegan lunch from Ard Bia Restaurant, and access to the talks and the workshop. See www.aoifemcelwain.com
