Tin Lies to spread its hilarity this May in Tuam

After last year's success in The Mall Theatre, Tuam, and An Taibhdhearc, Galway, the two act play The Crossing written by Patricia King-Callaghan from Tuam explored traditional themes which had their roots in the troubled history of the Irish peasantry.

Feedback was very positive from audiences and she has now written a one act play entitled Tin Lies. This play will be performed in the Mall Theatre, Tuam, on Saturday and Sunday May 5 and 6 at 8pm.

The play is a comedy and set on an island in rural Ireland in 1929, during The Roaring Twenties phenomenon across the globe. Mamó, an aging and cantankerous widow, has immense difficulty comprehending and grasping her son Michael's peculiar ways.

The talented cast consists of Máire Acton-Mannion, Louise Moran, Enda Burke, and Ollie Higgins. It is directed by actor Tom Carney and produced by Seán Callaghan. The production promises to be an eventful evening of laughter and hilarity.

Preceding and prior to the play is a short piece of The Tuam Beat performed by Seamus Ruttledge, Jonathan Hannon, and Alan Kelly. This involves celebrating the life and times of an Irish town through language and music.

Tickets cost €10 and are available from Quinn's Newsagents, Bishop Street, Tuam.
