Athenry’s Cian Burke produced an outstanding display of scoring when he hit five goals and two points in his side’s stunning 9-16 to 1-11 victory over a hapless Carnmore in group D of the senior hurling championship last weekend.
Burke hit four of those goals in an explosive 11 minute blitz that left Carnmore shocked and stunned.

The Connacht Rugby senior squad heads to Mayo next Tuesday for a pre-season training session at Ballinrobe RFC.
The squad will train on the club’s redeveloped pitch at 2pm, followed by a session at 3pm with youngsters from the club. Both sessions are open to the public to attend, while there will be photo opportunities with the players.
