NUI, Galway will begin the New Year by opening a major new cultural centre when the Bailey Allen Wing & Cultural Centre is opened in Árus na Mac Léinn on Saturday January 9 at 7.30pm.
The hall is named after the late Galway actor Frank Bailey and his mother Angela Allen. According to NUIG: “Through a generous bequest from the Bailey Allen family, the spirit of Frank Bailey will be memorialised at NUI, Galway, while continuing to foster and support the artistic development of Galway city.”

Stagecoach Theatre Arts has announced it will perform Malcolm Sircom's junior version of The Rocky Monster Show by kind arrangement with Musicline Publications, at the Bank of Ireland Theatre, NUI Galway, on Saturday December 12.
This will be the Galway centre's first performance since it broke the Guinness world record last year with the musical Glad Rags, which simultaneously performed with 66 other Stagecoach schools around the world.
