CROSSING THE Bridge - The Clarinbridge Banjo Gathering, takes place in the south Galway village tomorrow, Saturday, and Sunday.
Events start tomorrow with a gig by Charlie Harris and Des Mulkere in Jordan’s. On Saturday at 12 noon, there will be workshops (from beginners to advanced) for tenor and five string banjos with Brian McGrath, Colm Naughton, Tom Cussen, and Bill Forster. Those interested in how the instrument is made can take a tour of Clareen Banjos’ workshop at 3.30pm.

The Silent Disco Street Party takes place this Easter Sunday, starting at 9pm, and promises to be the most fun you can have on the street with a pair of headphones. Two DJs will play songs to hundreds of people (who can switch between the two) dancing and singing along to classic hits anthems, guilty pleasures, and pure cheese - except no music will be heard as they will be all wearing headphones.
