MOZART’S REQUIEM and three works by Handel will be performed by the Galway Baroque Singers in Galway Cathedral on Friday April 25 at 7.30pm.
The GBS, with director Audrey Corbett, will be joined by the National Sinfonia Orchestra; soloists Colette Boushell (soprano ), Stephen Wallace (counter tenor ), Stuart Kinsella (tenor ), Geoffrey Ledwidge (bass ); and conductor Proinnsias O’Duinn,
They will perform Handel’s ‘Zadok the Priest’, familiar to many people as the music for the UEFA Champions’ League; ‘Ode for the Birthday of Queen Anne’; and ‘Utrecht Jubilate’.
The second half features Mozart’s Requiem, the last work composed by the Austrian before his death, and which was then completed by his student, Sussmayer.
