Ballinrobe boot X-Change
Do you have football boots that are still good but don’t fit? Do you need football boots but don’t want to spend big money? This week football boots of all sizes can be dropped into the Tacú Centre, Jennings Butchers, Treacy’s Chemist, and JJ Burke Car Sales. On Saturday, March 10, and Saturday, March 24, the Lakeside Centre will have football boots available between 9.30am and 11am. A donation of €5 per pair is required. This event is being organised by Ballinrobe Ladies Gaelic Football Club. For more information call (087) 2347438.

Decision on Claremorris plant 'knot' made yet

The lease of five acres of land in Claremorris to a Kerry based firm for the development of a treatment plant for Japanese knotweed was deferred by Mayo County Council on Monday.

The proposed 15 year lease of the lands at Brookhill in Claremorris had already been rejected by the members of the Claremorris Municipal District at their February meeting the week previously.
