The intense competition between horse trainers Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliott, which has lit up the NH trainers championship in Ireland both this and last season, will move across the water next week as Elliott attempts to repeat his achievement of 2017 in dislodging Mullins from his perch at the top of the Cheltenham trainers' tree.

The basketball season comes to a close for Galway's two Super League sides this weekend.
A tough schedule is in place to complete the league fixtures, and both sides will play two matches. Moycullen will host their final game on Saturday in NUIG Kingfisher and they face title challengers UCD Marion title (7pm), while Maree are away to Eanna BC.

Still within touching distance of a Super League play-off spot, Moycullen basketballers secured an important 87-71 victory against Dubliners KUBS at the weekend.
It was a satisfying, if not outstanding display from Moycullen against KUBS ,who have yet to register a win this season. While they played with plenty of spirit and kept close to Moycullen for two quarters, they eventually ran out of steam.
