Fantasy Football round 33 preview

The European action may have concluded on Thursday but the only match anyone is talking about is Liverpool's destruction of Man City on Wednesday evening on Merseyside.

The Reds were absolutely brilliant as they tore the Premier League champions elect apart with a series of scintillating attacks. However, many Fantasy managers will have groaned when my player of the season, Mohamed Salah, limped off in the second half and is now facing a fight to be fit for the local derby with Everton on Saturday afternoon.

So with Salah likely to miss the action this weekend, who should you select to get the job done and earn your team precious Fantasy points?

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal ) v Southampton

The Gabonese striker has made an instant impact at the Emirates with five goals in his first six league outings since his mid-season transfer from Borussia Dortmund. Aubameyang has scored in his last three games including a brace last Sunday against relegation threatened Stoke City. It could have been a hat-trick but Arsenal's number 14 handed penalty duties to fellow forward Alexandre Lacazette in order to boost the Frenchman's confidence. On Sunday, Arsenal welcome strugglers Southampton to North London. The Saints have only won once in their last 17 games keeping only two clean sheets during that dreadful run. There is only going to be one result at the Emirates and Aubameyang will be banging in the goals for lots of Fantasy points. Make him your captain.

Luka Milivojevic (Crystal Palace ) v Bournemouth

Priced at only £5 million, the midfielder is an absolute bargain. With nine goals credited to his account so far for this season including two in his last two games, Milivojevic has been one of Crystal Palace's standout players in a tough season. The Serbian international takes the Eagles' penalties and when you have slippery customers like Wilfred Zaha and Andros Townsend in your side, there is always a chance that the man with the whistle will be pointing to the penalty spot. I can see Milivojevic getting himself on the score sheet this weekend so get him in your team.

Lukasz Fabianski (Swansea City ) v West Brom

The most uninspiring clash of the weekend comes at the Hawthorns where bottom of the table West Brom host Swansea. Both teams have the joint worst scoring record in the league with only 25 goals each; that averages out at less than one goal a game. This game has 0-0 written all over it so I am going to choose, for me, the second best performing goalkeeper in the league this season, Lukasz Fabianski. The Polish shot stopper has been excellent behind a porous defence and has been one the reasons why the Swans find themselves out of the relegation zone. Trust me, this game will be last on Match of the Day on Saturday night because of the lack of action. But at least managers will be content when Fabianski secures a clean sheet and vital Fantasy points.
