Salthill-Knocknacarra GAA Club is hosting a special pre-match questions and answers session with former Galway and Mayo greats ahead of the eagerly-awaited provincial derby match.
Former managers John O'Mahoney and Liam Sammon will join with former players Ray Silke, Maurice Sheridan, Niall Finnegan, Anthony Finnerty, Gordon Morley and Cathal McGinley at Salthill Hotel on Sunday (May 19), which kicks off with a recption at 1.15pm.

Galway city hurling and camogie club, Liam Mellows, is holding a barbecue and “open evening” at the club’s grounds at Ballyloughane, Renmore (beside the beach), on Friday May 24th May from 7pm to 9 pm.
Non-members, members, supporters and their children are welcome to come along and see Mellows’ state-of-the-art facilities, which includes a new all-weather juvenile pitch, hurling wall, and astro-turf pitches.

As the Galway Ladies look towards preparing for championship season, manager Barry Downey remains postive despite his side’s disappointing loss in the National League division two final to Kerry on Sunday.
The maroon and white’s poor start left them trailing by six and they spent the remainder of the game chasing the lead, a situation that Barry Downey believes was sparked by nerves.

Salthill took some satisfaction by the battling way in which they frustrated Mervue at Drom, but victories are required and tomorrow's trip to Ferrycarrig Park for a clash with Wexford Youths is certainly tricky.

Galway senior football manager Alan Mulholland, who was a selector with the u-21 management team, will not be rushing the youngsters into senior championship action.
Four of the u-21 panel are already involved in the senior set-up and will be available to feature against Mayo on Sunday week if selected - Fiontán Ó Curraoin, Tom Flynn, Shane Walsh and Tom Healy - but none of the other players is expected be involved.
