Galway WFC’s top-scorer last season, Sinead Taylor, returned to Eamonn Deacy Park in the green of Peamount United on Sunday and played a major part in her side’s 3-1 victory.
As a forerunner of the impending cup clash, Taylor grabbed her side’s second goal - and her first for the Dubliners - to swing the contest Peamount’s way after the hour mark.

Robbie Henshaw is, of course, already a key component of Joe Schimdt’s senior squad, while a trio of even younger Buccs - Rory Moloney, Stephen McVeigh, and Cian Romaine - have been included in the Ireland u20 squad by coach Nigel Carolan. Three Connacht players have been selected on the Irish women’s squad for the upcoming Six Nations.
In addition to the experienced Alison Miller and Claire Molloy, newcomer Sene Naoupu has also been named on the squad. Sene Naoupu, married to Connacht Rugby’s No 8 George Naoupu, is one of seven players who have been involved in the Ireland Sevens set-up.
