Apart from long term injury victim Orla McGrath (cruciate ligament) Galway camogie team manager Tony Ward has a full squad from which to select for this weekend’s championship clash with Offaly at St Brendan’s Park, Birr (2.30pm).
Ward is wary of the challenge Offaly will pose, but, he is hopeful of building on the win his charges had in their first round game over Cork.

Galway Triathlon Club's Kevin Thornton was triumphant in the longest race at Lough Cutra Castle Triathlon, in Gort on Sunday.
Competing in the event known as The Gauntlet, a tough half iron distance, with 200 competitors, Thornton led from the swim exit and smashed the course record with 4:15:08.

Home and away fixtures in a sporting context is an international concept, based on fairness and equity. It should not be something even up for discussion.
If a team plays away one weekend, and has to play the same team six days later, they should surely, based on any loose interpretation of natural justice, be granted a home fixture.

Galway Cricket Club has pulled off a shock result in the Irish Senior Cup, beating Fox Lodge on their own ground near Strabane in Saturday's first round.

The girls successfully progressed through the group stage and convincingly beat the host Gothenburg city 34-9 in the quarter finals, before losing in the semis to their Danish counterparts.
