European U23 Championships
Galway athlete Alanna Lally ran the race of her life, running for Ireland at the European U23 Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland, last weekend, placing fourth in the European U23 800m final in a time of 2:05.63.
Still time to enter for Loughrea Triathlon Festival

With more than 60 per cent of entries already snapped up, time and space is running out for athletes to sign up for this year’s Loughrea Triathlon Festival.
Taking place on Sunday August 6, and hosted by east Galway based Predator Triathlon Club, the race hopes to attract almost 800 triathletes to the Co Galway town for the day long activities.

NUI Galway athlete Aisling Joyce made her debut for Ireland at the European Cross Country Championships in Sardinia, Italy on Sunday.
Competing as part of the junior ladies team, which finished joint ninth team overall, the talented Joyce ran a clever race, making ground all the way through the 4km event before eventually placing 55th overall. The Mayo native was fourth scorer on the Irish junior squad.

Craughwell NS senior boys made history on Saturday when winning the Connacht Primary Schools Cross Country title for the first time at Sligo IT.
The boys were led home by an outstanding performance from Ross McGuinness with an eighth place finish followed in with an incredible run by Robert Urquhart, who placed 18th, just ahead of Eoin Byrne who had the race of his life to take 19th place. Next home was Evan Hallinan 27th, Luke Flynn 33rd, and Evan Moran 40th for the victorious squad

Fergal Walsh of Athenry AC was the winner of the Craughwell AC 5km in aid of the club's new facility development.
Walsh produced a good time of 16.36, ahead of Jack Miskella in second and Ben Ryan third, both of Craughwell AC. The first woman home was Athenry AC’s Deirdre Brophy in 19.32.
