Galway volunteers help rebuild lives in Haiti

A strong Galway contingent of enterprising volunteers travelled to Haiti this week with Irish charity Haven, and were among the impressive group of 297 who constructed 63 houses, a community/training centre and a playground in the earthquake-ravaged area of Gonaives.

A new venue catering to Galway’s gay community will open its doors in Shop Street tomorrow (Friday).
Dignity Bar was first established in Waterford in July 2008. Dignity provides a safe place in stylish surroundings where people can let their hair down and party into the small hours.

Traffic congestion is making it hard for Rahoon Road residents to exit and enter their estates, so allowing another new entrance/exit onto the road at Millar’s Lane would be dangerous.
This is the view of Independent councillor Catherine Connolly, who has submitted a formal observation to An Bord Pleanála against the proposed development at Millar’s Lane, Rahoon.
