The new timetable incorporating earlier departure times of fifteen minutes means passengers can now travel between Galway and Dublin with even more ease and convenience. Powerboat fans to avail of park and ride service

Huge crowds are expected to descend on Galway city for the upcoming Powerboat Festival and to ease any traffic and parking issues a Park and Ride service will be in operation during the event.

Galway City Council’s Transportation Unit is once again collaborating with the Let’s Do It Galway team, Galway Racecourse, and An Garda Síochána to provide the Park and Ride service for the international water sports event which is taking place during the June bank holiday weekend.

Model and Xposé TV presenter Glenda Gilson is eyeing up budding models around Galway, as she launches Specsavers’ nationwide search for the Irish Spectacle Wearer of the Year 2010. The brunette bombshell is helping Specsavers search to find ordinary Irish people who look extraordinary in their glasses, as a necessity or even simply for fashion purposes. Every year, Specsavers scours Ireland and countries across Europe to find the guys and girls next door who look amazing in their specs. The competition is open to men and women aged 16 and over, who are either current specs wearers or wear glasses for fashion purposes. Noel Meehan, store director for Specsavers in Galway says: ‘We see so many people in the store who look absolutely amazing in their glasses.
