“You are all invited,” says the Rector of St Nicholas, Archdeacon Gary Hastings. He has issued an invitation to all in Galway to afternoon tea at the Rectory, Taylor’s Hill, on Saturday June 12, starting at 2pm, when the annual garden fete takes place in aid of St Nicholas’, and to attend trad in the church on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7.30pm during the summer.

A dedicated bus web site, www.galwaycitybus.ie, will be launched in July and will contain information from all the service providers including routes, timetables, and maps.
The launch of the website was announced this week by Fianna Fáil councillor Michael J Crowe who is also the chair of the Galway City Council’s Transport Committee.

The court room was left in utter shock yesterday as horrifying camera footage of a high-speed car chase was played out for all to see.
The footage, which showed the view from the pursuing Garda patrol car, revealed the dangerous and potentionally fatal risks that speeding drunk driver, Marcin Lewandowski, was willing to take to evade arrest, sometimes reaching speeds of over 160kmph down narrow roads and narrowly missing on-coming vehicles.
