UN Universal Children’s Day in Galway

The United Nation’s Universal Children’s Day takes place this Sunday and will be marked in Galway with a series of events in the Sahaj Marg Meditation Centre.

The event is open to the public and begins at 10.30am. It will include a non-denominational prayer-meditation, as well as a programme devoted to promoting the welfare of the children of the world. There will be workshops for children on the theme of One Human Family from 11am to 12 noon and from 2 to 3pm.

While it may not admit it, it is hard to imagine the EU not having a Plan B if the unthinkable - or rather not as unthinkable as it was six months ago - happens and the euro ceases to be.

Does Ireland have a Plan B though? Enda Kenny’s reply to that very question by Shane Ross gave us a response which was a cross between ‘we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it/we’ve a few ideas floating around’ type response, which certainly does not inspire confidence.
